About Kezia-Grace

BIOGRAPHY

Kezia-Grace Macbruce is a privacy & policy professional, public speaker, and community leader working at the intersection of public engagement, privacy, leadership, and digital policy. Her work focuses on how institutions, leaders, and systems shape everyday experiences, particularly for children growing up in an increasingly digital world.

Kezia-Grace currently works as a Public Engagement Advisor, where she designs and delivers inclusive engagement strategies within municipal governance. She supports policy development and engagement processes that prioritize trust, accessibility, and meaningful participation, ensuring that community voices influence decision-making rather than merely informing it. Her work spans stakeholder engagement, governance strategy, and policy design for complex and evolving public issues.

She holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations, blending strong academic foundations with practical experience in government. This background allows her to translate complex policy frameworks into clear, human-centred conversations that resonate with both technical and non-technical audiences.

A central focus of Kezia-Grace’s speaking and thought leadership is children’s online safety and digital accountability, framed through the question: “Who is responsible for kids online?” She examines how technology, platform design, data practices, and regulatory gaps impact children’s privacy, development, and wellbeing. Her work challenges the assumption that online safety is solely a parental responsibility, instead emphasizing the role of policy, corporate accountability, and public leadership in protecting children in digital spaces.

Beyond her professional role, Kezia-Grace serves as Curator of the Global Shapers Edmonton Hub, an initiative of the World Economic Forum, where she leads youth-driven initiatives focused on leadership development, policy awareness, and community impact. She also sits on the board of the Federation of Black Canadians, contributing to strategic governance and community-centred policy discussions at a national level.

As a public speaker, Kezia-Grace has shared her insights at platforms such as the Afrocentric Symposium, the Daughters of Africa Resource Centre, and various civic and youth forums. Her talks explore leadership without titles, the real-world impact of policy, and how individuals and communities can engage systems of power to drive change. She is particularly passionate about equipping young leaders with the confidence and tools to participate meaningfully in civic and policy spaces.

Through her work, Kezia-Grace invites audiences to think critically about responsibility, accountability, and leadership in a digital society ; asking not only what policy exists, but who it protects, who it leaves out, and who is ultimately accountable.
Outside of her professional work, she enjoys solo travel, thoughtful conversations, and applying a critical lens to understanding how misinformation spreads and shapes public behaviour.
